Navigation Expedition
Navigation is a fundamental skill of the outdoors. Anyone venturing into remote areas should have this useful tool in their arsenal. Our instructors have spent decades honing these skills not only in the outdoors industry but also in hostile environments across the globe including deserts & jungles.

About the event
The best way to learn navigation is to be outdoors amongst the features rather than sitting in a classroom staring at a map. If you’re looking to develop your navigation and map reading skills in a challenging environment then why not join us on our navigation expedition.
This will take place in the UK’s largest national park, where we will set off on the Friday afternoon and spend 3 days and 2 nights in the mountains.
Over the course of the weekend, we will cover;
· Map features
· Compass features
· 4 figure, 6 figure and 8 figure grids
· How to plot a grid
· Pacing and bearing
· Resections
· Intersections
· Declination
· And much more
We will start off with basic navigation and progress over the weekend, where you as a group will lead the final day with each person leading several legs and finishing back at the vehicles.
We will be completely self-sufficient over the weekend, which means everything we start with must be carried for the duration.
Full course cost £400.
Includes map, compass and expedition tent (tent based on 2 people sharing)
